‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D’ EP Teases Fitz’s Journey In Season 5

Agents of shield FitzThe fourth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D came to a close this week. The finale proved to be a bombastic one, with the return of Ghost Rider and a new mystery that will lead us into the fifth season of the hit Marvel show. With Aida now defeated for good, a new villain lurks in the background.

With Coulson and his team abducted by a mystery man, tensions are higher than ever and it’s safe to say that next season will prove to be most interesting. With Coulson now (presumably lost) in space, it seems fitting that both critics and fans alike are wondering what’s going to happen next season.

In Entertainment Weekly’s Spoiler Room, Natalie Abrams answered a fan’s question regarding the Fitz/Simmons relationship and why we should be worried for everyone as executive producer Jed Whedon had this to say.

“It’s safe to say that he’s not over it yet. Everybody now has some sort of pain, some sort of darkness in their past. We know how hard Fitz is on himself, and he was the worst kind of person in the Framework, so I don’t think that’s something you get over right away.”

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D will be back for Season 5 later this year when it moves to Friday nights at 9/8c on ABC.

Agents of SHIELD

This week marked the season finale of the fourth season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Suffice to say, this has been a stellar season for the show. Probably one of Marvel’s best seasons on television (depending on how you feel about Legion). Season 4 gave us 3 distinct story arcs: Ghost Rider, LMD, and Agents of Hydra, and all of them were perfect. There was the right amount of drama, actions, story, and intrigue that held us over from week to week. Despite having a later timeslot this season, the ratings (thanks to loyal fans) held strong and the show was renewed for a 5th season in the 2017-2018 season for ABC. Even though the show is now in the “Friday Night Death Slot,” ABC President Channing Dungey is not worried as he feels the show has a strong enough fanbase to still do a great job, which it why Inhumans and Once Upon a Time will also share Friday nights with them.

As stated before, the season finale was an exceptional close to an explosive season. You can check out our review of the episode as well as our pointing out of all the MCU Easter Eggs for that episode. As the season finale ended with a great cliffhanger, there are so many places for the 5th season to go. Here are a few things in the upcoming season to look forward to. Click Next to take a look…
