‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Not Attending SDCC; Will Appear At NYCC

Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.. SDCC NYCCWhen Marvel announced its line-up of television shows that are attending this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, one series in particular was missing from the list. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which kicked off the modern age of Marvel TV, were not featured on the schedule at all, making fans of the beloved ABC series curious about what’s going on.

It turns out that unfortunately, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will not be attending this year’s Comic-Con after a producer of the show, Geoffrey Colo, confirmed it on social media. This will be the first time that the show is missing out on Comic-Con after having been there since the beginning.

But Colo did share some comforting news though for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans that will be attending another big convention this year. The producer revealed that the series is set to appear at New York Comic-Con which will take place between October 5-8. Series lead Clark Gregg, who plays Phil Coulson, shared on his Twitter page his disappointment that they’d not able to visit San Diego this year, but that they are looking forward to see the fans at NYCC.

“Really disappointed we won’t get to hang with the world’s greatest fans at #SDCC17 #AgentsofSHIELD The truth is Henry and Iain have become so sexy that SDPD and @marvel security could no longer guarantee their safety. Last year even a team of actual Inhumans failed to prevent one (lucky) fan from nibbling off part of Iain’s ear lobe. In all seriousness, we’re really sorry to anyone who’s disappointed. We consider our loyal, badass fandom wholly responsible for S.5 and though the timing this year puts us at #NYCC17 We WILL find a way to provide a special thanks to the bamfy #AgentsofSHIELD #DemAgents fam that got us here. Love… (5/eleventy)”

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 5 is set to premiere in early January 2018 at its new time slot on Friday nights at 9/8c on ABC.

San Diego Comic-Con will be taking place from Thursday, July 20 – Sunday, July 23, with Preview Night on Wednesday, July 19. For more information about Comic-Con, visit their official website at http://www.comic-con.org/cci

Agents of SHIELD

This week marked the season finale of the fourth season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Suffice to say, this has been a stellar season for the show. Probably one of Marvel’s best seasons on television (depending on how you feel about Legion). Season 4 gave us 3 distinct story arcs: Ghost Rider, LMD, and Agents of Hydra, and all of them were perfect. There was the right amount of drama, actions, story, and intrigue that held us over from week to week. Despite having a later timeslot this season, the ratings (thanks to loyal fans) held strong and the show was renewed for a 5th season in the 2017-2018 season for ABC. Even though the show is now in the “Friday Night Death Slot,” ABC President Channing Dungey is not worried as he feels the show has a strong enough fanbase to still do a great job, which it why Inhumans and Once Upon a Time will also share Friday nights with them.

As stated before, the season finale was an exceptional close to an explosive season. You can check out our review of the episode as well as our pointing out of all the MCU Easter Eggs for that episode. As the season finale ended with a great cliffhanger, there are so many places for the 5th season to go. Here are a few things in the upcoming season to look forward to. Click Next to take a look…
