‘Ant-Man And The Wasp’: David Dastmalchian Confirms His Return

Ant-Man

Actor David Dastmalchian, who appeared as Scott Lang’s (Paul Rudd) Russian buddy Kurt in Marvel’s Ant-Man, has confirmed that he will be returning for the sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight while appearing on the red carpet for the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 premiere, Dastmalchian stated the following:

“Well, I don’t know if [Ant-Man/Ant-Man and the Wasp director] Peyton has made it to the carpet yet, but Peyton Reed is here. I just got a change to speak with him the other day and it sounds like Kurt is going to be returning to Ant-Man’s world and will be appearing in Ant-Man and the Wasp. We are very, very, very excited.”

I, for one, am happy to hear this, as I enjoyed the shenanigans provided by Scott Lang’s team, made up of Kurt, Luis (Michael Peña) and Dave (Tip “T.I.” Harris). I’m also a fan of Datlmalchian’s, who it seems is on a mission right now to appear in every comic book universe imaginable, having appeared on a recent episode of The Flash as Abra Kadabra, as well as two episodes of Gotham earlier this season as Dwight Pollard, the man who resurrected Jerome. He also appeared in The Dark Knight as one of Joker’s thugs that was apprehended during the parade scene, where he was wearing a “Tetch” nametag, a nod to Batman villain Jervis Tetch, aka the Mad Hatter.

Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp is currently slated for a July 6, 2018 release. So far, confirmed to return for the sequel are Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne/The Wasp, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Michael Peña as Luis and David Dastmalchian as Kurt, as well as director Peyton Reed.

10 Cosmic Heroes We Want To See In ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3’

Guardians

It’s official: James Gunn has confirmed that that he will be returning to both write and direct the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie, which is just phenomenal news. Gunn has created something really special with these films. He took third-tier (at best) comic book characters that most fans didn’t yet know they needed to love and turned their story into not one, but two blockbuster movies that are major hits, both critically (Vol. 2 is getting mostly positive buzz on social media following press screenings) and financially (the sequel’s currently tracking at about $150 million for its opening weekend).

In his Facebook post, Gunn stated that Guardians Vol. 3 will “conclude the story of this iteration of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and help catapult both old and new Marvel characters into the next ten years and beyond.” He also made a brief mention of “some of the other forthcoming heroes” that could be appearing in the series. With these things in mind, we thought it would be a wonderful idea to explore some of the cosmic Marvel characters that fans might like to see in the third installment.

Before we jump in, a couple caveats. While it would surely be a lot of fun to see some of the Earthbound MCU characters mixing it up with the team in space, this list is only going to feature cosmic-based Marvel characters. The film will hit theaters after the Guardians’ introduction to Tony and Cap and the gang in Avengers: Infinity War, so we may still see that happen anyway. Also, I’m sure there are plenty of fantastic cosmic villains that would be great fits to antagonize the team in the third film, but we’re only focusing on the good guys in this list. Also, as amazing as it would be to see Silver Surfer or Galactus in the MCU, we’re not including anyone that Marvel doesn’t currently own the rights to, so don’t expect to see Agent Venom or Kitty Pryde or any of the other non-MCU characters that have served on the team in the comics on this list either. Also, it should be noted that I have not yet seen Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, so if any of these characters do appear, my apologies for the wasted entry.

Now, without further adieu, here are the 10 cosmic Marvel heroes we want to see in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Hit the next button below to begin!
