It appears that Arrow is getting visited by a former foe towards the end of the fifth season. Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver Queen a.k.a. Green Arrow on the long-running CW series, tweeted out today that Manu Bennett, who played Slade Wilson a.k.a. Deathstroke, is officially coming back.
“Desperate times call for desperate measures. Welcome back @manubennett.”

It was recently teased by one of the producers that Oliver was going to be forced to have to team up with some surprising players and unless Bennett’s return is for a flashback, it seems that he will be helping the Green Arrow in defeating Prometheus.
“The alliances are going to be very surprising. You’re not going to believe who Oliver is working with to defeat Prometheus. It’s going to be really emotional. It’s going to be all about Oliver’s family, but not the family we’re thinking of right now. It’s going to end in a giant explosion, but not where we think it’s going to end, and the emotional punch is going to be bigger than the actual physical part of the bombs going off.”
Right after Amell’s announcement, show-runner Marc Guggenheim followed up by revealing the title for the Season 5 finale which is titled “Lian Yu” while confirming Bennett’s return.

Guggenheim also tweeted out that Bennett is only the first of several “exciting announcements” that we will be getting for the season five finale, which could mean that we will be seeing more returning characters in 5.23. What has been revealed to so far about the finale is that Katie Cassidy’s Black Siren is reportedly set to appear in the 23rd episode of the fifth season.
