Watch: ‘Assassin’s Creed’ Stuntman Performs 125-Foot Leap Of Faith

Stunt doubles are the unsung heroes of Hollywood. It’s not often that we get to hear about their work, but when we do, we are usually left with our jaws on the floor. For instance, Damien Walters, the stunt double for Michael Fassbender in Justin Kurzel’s Assassin’s Creed, began making the rounds across the internet this morning due to a newly released behind-the-scenes video for the highly anticipated movie.

The video shows the 34-year old stuntman performing a bone-chilling 125-foot free fall for a scene in the movie. More specifically, it’s for a “Leap of Faith” scene, which is one of the coolest things about the video game series and something that many Assassin’s Creed fans are looking forward to finally seeing in live action.

You can check out the video below.

Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.

Directed by Justin Kurzel and starring Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson, Michael K. Williams, Ariane Labed, Matias Varela and Denis Ménochet, Assassin’s Creed opens in theaters on December 21, 2016. Are you excited?
