‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Casting Call Hints At Captain Marvel Appearance

Captain Marvel

With Avengers: Infinity War filming concluded and attention now turned to future projects, new information suggests we might see a late addition to the film. Infinity War is set to bring every character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe together in the fight against Thanos, however an additional character might be introduced to the team sooner rather than later.

A casting call posted on Project Casting from Infinity War suggests a military presence, one which might hint at an appearance by Col. Carol Danvers of the USAF, better known as Captain Marvel. Here is the casting call:

***FEATURE FILM***MARY LOU***
**Working August 28**
**Fitting: week of August 14th
**Filming location TBD (Atlanta area or Fayetteville)
New Faces Only!
Rate: $68/8

Military Officers: Looking for men who appear to be 30’s-early 50’s, in good physical shape, to portray officers of various rankings. Must have short hair or be willing to get a military haircut. NO Facial Hair! Military experience is preferred, but not mandatory. Filming will be Monday 8/28 with a mandatory fitting the week of August 14th- must be available for both!

‘Mary Lou’ is the working title for Infinity War, which suggests that this call is not for Avengers 4 or the Captain Marvel solo film. With Captain Marvel’s movie set between Avengers: Infinity War and the currently untitled Avengers 4, it does make sense that we might be introduced to the character beforehand.

Further hinting at this late inclusion comes from an Instagram post from Captain Marvel co-director Ryan Fleck. With filming for Avengers 4 not yet started and filming for Captain Marvel still a long ways off started, this could be further evidence of an early introduction to Earth’s Mightiest Hero. It is possible we could learn more about this at Marvel Studios’ Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con, which is set to take place on Saturday, July 22 from 5:30-7:00pm PT.
