With the recent news that Billy Crudup was cast as Barry Allen’s father, Henry Allen, in The Flash’s first solo film, an MTV interview from over a year ago resurfaced that showed Crudup asking Flash star Ezra Miller for a role in the film. As Crudup notes in the video, his Watchmen character Doctor Manhattan is unfortunately dead, so that wouldn’t have exactly worked out.

While talking about Ezra accepting the role of Barry Allen, Crudup innocently asks the question:

“More importantly, is there a part for like, let’s say a guy who plays mid to late forties.”

Yes, Billy, there is! Henry Allen!  Henry Allen is Barry’s father, and is well known from his television version played by Barry Allen alum, John Wesley Shipp. Shipp’s version was killed off by Zoom during the penultimate episode of the second season, but will be returning for a few episodes during the season three Flashpoint story-arc.

Are you excited to see Billy Crudup take on the role of Barry Allen’s father, Henry? Don’t forget to let us know what you think, below. Also make sure to check out the whole MTV video interview down in the source link.

The Flash joins the Justice League during their live action debut on November 17th, 2017, and his first solo outing hits the following year on March 23rd, 2018.
