Beyonce Is Top Choice For Nala In ‘The Lion King’ Remake

The Lion King Disney

Beauty and the Beast has been a monster hit for Disney, and with The Jungle Book director Jon Favreau preparing to shoot a live-action adaptation of The Lion King this summer, the company is certainly guaranteed another massive success. With Donald Glover cast as Simba and James Earl Jones set to reprise his role as Mufasa, there is no doubt that the film’s ensemble will continue to add some heavy-hitters. And in terms of major stars, there aren’t that many bigger than Beyonce.

That’s right. Variety has exclusively reported that Favreau’s #1 pick to portray Nala is none other than the 22-time Grammy Award winner.

The potential addition of Beyonce to the ensemble of The Lion King is undoubtedly exciting. Obviously, the iconic music from the original 1994 juggernaut will be implemented to this live-action remake, but with her potential involvement along with Glover (who is known for his hip hop persona, Childish Gambino) seems to signify that the songs will be in play.

This could potentially be the second time Beyonce would lend her voice talents to a film. She was last featured in Blue Sky’s Epic.

For now, you can check out Disney’s newest live-action adaptation with Beauty and the Beast, which is currently playing in theaters
