While there’s a six-month gap between the release dates of Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War, that hasn’t stopped Chris Hemsworth from filming for both movies. A recently-released behind-the-scenes video shows Hemsworth arriving on an, erm, “rehearsal” of a scene with many of the characters, while he is less than amused that he’s not in the scene.
Hemsworth released a short skit of Avengers: Infinity War fun behind the scenes of the epic superhero crossover showing how he plans to choreograph a scene that he previously wasn’t part of. Hilarity ensues:
It’s worth noting that Thor’s on good terms with both Winter Soldier and Falcon alongside Hulk. As both Winter Soldier and Falcon have yet to team up with Thor onscreen, perhaps this could be a hint that they’ll will team up with Thor at some point. It’s also interesting to see a War Machine action figure over there, considering that James Rhodes was crippled during the events of Captain America: Civil War – while actor Don Cheadle has not been confirmed to be a part of the movie, it’s possible that he could have filmed a few scenes at some point, as it has to be explained to where he is when everything goes down. Maybe we’re just looking too much into a joke video, but really, with a project this ambitious, who can really say?
Avengers: Infinity War will be released on May 4, 2018, and has a cast that includes Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark (Iron Man), Chris Evans as Steve Rogers (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth as Thor Odinson, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner (Hulk), Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton (Hawkeye), Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch), Paul Bettany as the Vision, Chris Pratt as Peter Quill (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautisa as Drax the Destroyer, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Vin Diesel as Groot, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Stephen Strange, Tom Holland as Peter Parker (Spider-Man), Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier), Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa (Black Panther), Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Benedict Wong as Wong, Tom Hiddleston as Loki Laufeyson, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Benicio Del Toro as Taneleer Tivan (Collector), and Josh Brolin as Thanos.
An untitled sequel will be released on May 3, 2019, and features many of the same cast returning alongside new additions like Brie Larson as Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel) and Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne (The Wasp).
5 Reasons We’re Excited For ‘Thor: Ragnarok’
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hasn’t even been out a week, and we’re already looking forward to the next Marvel movies. Spider-Man: Homecoming is first up, but it doesn’t look quite as interesting as Thor: Ragnarok.
The trailer for the film is incredible. The vibe, the action, the set-design, the soundtrack, every element of the trailer screams, “This is a different kind of Thor movie.”
And that’s exactly what we need. Thor: The Dark World was the most easily forgettable Marvel sequel, only distinguishable from the original for its use of fan-favorite villain Loki. Thor: Ragnarok looks poised to switch up the formula, seeming more like a fun intergalactic romp than a brooding space epic.
Judging from the trailer and other positive buzz, there’s plenty of cause to be excited for Thor: Ragnarok. Here are the 5 reasons why.
