Four New ‘Dunkirk’ TV Spots Depict The Battle From Land, Sea & Air

Warner Bros. Pictures has released four brand new TV spots for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming World War II film titled Dunkirk.

The film was written with the intention of depicting the historic Dunkirk evacuation from three perspectives and the TV spots each focus on a different vantage point from which the evacuation was experienced. “Surrounded” focuses on the land, “Trapped” focuses on the sea, “Hunted” focuses on the air, and “Time” covers all three perspectives with the message that “Time is running out.”

Dunkirk” opens as hundreds of thousands of British and Allied troops are surrounded by enemy forces. Trapped on the beach with their backs to the sea they face an impossible situation as the enemy closes in.

Written and directed by Christopher Nolan, the film stars Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branagh, Mark Rylance, Cillian Murphy, Aneurin Barnard, James D’Arcy, Jack Lowden, Barry Keoghan and Harry Styles.

Dunkirk will be released in theaters on July 21,2017 and will be presented in digital projection, 35MM, 70MM, IMAX digital and IMAX 70MM.

Today, Americans across the country celebrate Memorial Day. Now many just use this day as a means to enjoy the day off by either going to cook outs, or hanging at the nearest beach/amusement park/pool, marking the unofficial start of the summer season for everyone. However, the real meaning behind the Federal Holiday is to take time to remember fallen soldiers who have died in service of our country. For some, it’s a day of remembrance, solemn reflection, and a chance to grieve as well. We here at Heroic Hollywood, as we live in a world of superheroes and their cinematic film adaptations also see some of these characters as our modern-day myths. While they are not heroic as true soldiers who die in service of their countries, they are heroic in their own right. So in remembrance of today’s holiday, we wanted to take a look at heroes within the various superhero cinematic universes that died heroically in their roles.
