‘Game Of Thrones’: Emilia Clarke Dispels Hopes Of Daenerys-Led Spin-Off

Game of Thrones HBO

Fans who were hoping that the Breaker of Chains and the Mother of Dragons would be getting her own spin-off in Game of Thrones should probably keep their expectations in check, as Daenerys Targaryen actress Emilia Clarke has stated that Khaleesi’s story will strictly be told in the remaining episodes of the series.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Clarke was asked about the forthcoming spin-offs set in the world established by George R. R. Martin’s wildly successful A Song of Ice and Fire series and its incredibly popular HBO adaptation. Clarke stated that her commitment to the franchise will end with Season 8:

“I mean, I have no doubt there’ll be prequels and sequels and who knows what else. But I am doing one more season. And then that’ll be it.”

Hopefully Clarke didn’t just indirectly spoil that her character dies in the final season of Game of Thrones if one of the spin-offs is a sequel to the series, but from the sound of things, her story will be told with the remaining 13 episodes of the show.

Game of Thrones Season 7 premieres July 16, 2017. The series stars Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Jaime Lannister, Lena Headey as Cersei Lannister, Kit Harington as Jon Snow, Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen, Aidan Gillen as Petyr Baelish, Liam Cunningham as Ser Davos Seaworth, Carice van Houten as Melisandre, Rory McCann as Sandor “The Hound” Clegane, Maisie Williams as Arya Stark, Conleth Hill as Varys, Alfie Allen as Theon Greyjoy, John Bradley as Samwell Tarly, Gwendoline Christie as Brienne of Tarth, Kristofer Hivju as Tormund Giantsbane, Isaac Hempstead Wright as Bran Stark, Jerome Flynn as Bronn, Iain Glen as Jorah Mormont, Hannah Murray as Gilly.
