‘Game Of Thrones’ Actress Oona Chaplin Joins The ‘Avatar’ Sequels

Oona Chaplin Avatar Sequels
Momentum on the production of James Cameron’s long-delayed Avatar sequels just got a big boost as another actress has joined the cast – Oona Chaplin.

The Tracking Board reports that Chaplin will be joining the cast of the Avatar sequels as a vibrant character named Varang. It has not been made clear if Varang is a human character, one of the Na’vi, or a new type of alien. This news was revealed recently at Twentieth Century Fox’s presentation at CineEurope, where producer Jon Landau revealed that her character has an important place in the saga of Pandora.

The Spanish actress was most well-known for her performance on Game of Thrones as Talisa Maegyr, the secret lover of Robb Stark who appeared in the second and third seasons of the show. Chaplin’s other notable credits include parts on the television series The Crimson Field and Taboo, along with a role in the recent film The Longest Ride. In addition, she’s also the granddaughter of Charlie Chaplin, the silent movie legend.

Four Avatar sequels are planned for release in the Decembers of 2020, 2021, 2024, and 2025. Avatar 2‘s cast includes Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Joel David Moore, and newcomers Cliff Curtis and Oona Chaplin.
