‘Gotham’ Star Jessica Lucas Wants To See Bane Appear On The Series

GothamGotham is getting ready to wrap up its third season next week with a two-hour season finale that will feature the debut of Ra’s Al Ghul. With FOX having renewed the show for a fourth season, which will debut in the fall on a new time slot on Thursdays at 8/7c, it’s safe to say that we will probably see the introduction of a few familiar Batman villains at some point.

In a recent interview with Gotham star Jessica Lucas, who plays Tabitha Galavan a.k.a. Tigress, the actress was asked what Batman villain she would love to see show up in the future. Lucas brought up the villain Bane as someone that she would like to see appear in some way down the line.

“Bane! Can you imagine? I know time-wise, that may not be right… but maybe someone to face Bruce Wayne or Gordon who has the steroid, who has that strength and power.”

As Lucas said it herself, introducing Bane this early in the game wouldn’t perhaps fit with the timeline if you are following the mythology, but we have seen in the past the show being willing to bend the canon a bit. At this point, Bane would most likely be around the same age as Bruce Wayne, if not younger.

In the comics, Bane was born behind bars in Peña Duro, the Santa Prisca prison after he had to serve the life sentence of his criminal father Edmund Dorrance a.k.a. King Snake.  The show has however hinted at Bane’s weapon, Venom, as we saw an early version of it, called Viper, in the fifth episode of season one.
