This season of Gotham has been all sorts of crazy (good) as we have seen monsters invade Gotham City as well as the rising of several villains, including Edward Nygma as he is now approaching his comic book destiny as The Riddler. The second half of the third season will officially kick off towards the end of this month as the Heroes Rise storyline will take Bruce Wayne closer towards his destiny as the Caped Crusader of the city.
Last week Heroic Hollywood participated in the Gotham press room where we chatted with the actors and producers behind the show to get some teases about what’s coming up in Season 3 when the show returns later this month. We were fortunate enough to talk with Camren Bicondova who plays Selina Kyle a.k.a. the future Catwoman who teased what is coming up for her character before the end of the season.
Selina will be getting the guidance of Tabitha Galavan later this season as Selina gets closer towards her destiny as Catwoman. When asked about if that mentorship relationship might turn into something more, Bicondova said it might be possible as Selina is searching for herself.
“I’m not sure, we haven’t really dived into that yet as of right now. I think that eventually it will happen. Selina has been for the past however many months or years not consciously doing it, she has been kind of depending on Bruce in certain aspects and I think that for the rest of the season she isn’t looking for someone else to fill that spot, she is more realizing that she needs to fill that spot with herself and rely on herself. Wherever that mentality takes her by the end of the season is where we’ll find ourselves. “
She also talked about the chances of seeing Selina possibly joining the Sirens in the future, given that Catwoman in the comics is a member of the Gotham City Sirens.
“That would be cool! I don’t know how that goes. I have no idea because some things are shaking up this season, so we never know!”
More highlights from the full roundtable interview:
-Whether or not Bicondova is just as agile as her character is.
-What part of Selina that she would like to see more explored on the show.
-Bicondova on whether she wants to do more action scenes.
-Whether we might see Selina try to save her best friend Ivy who has gone off the track a bit since her transformation at the start of the season.
-Her excitement for the season three finale and Season 4 hopes.
“GOTHAM (Mondays, 8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) The origin story continues on Season Three of GOTHAM, and the stakes are higher than ever, as Super-Villains more ambitious and depraved are introduced, and a realignment of alliances shakes up the fight for power in Gotham City.
Season Three will peel back the curtain on the infamous criminal organization known as the Court of The Owls. With the Indian Hill escapees on the loose, JIM GORDON (Ben McKenzie) must take matters into his own hands as a bounty hunter in Gotham. He makes it his mission to find HUGO STRANGE (guest star BD Wong), the mastermind behind the horrifying Indian Hill experiments, and FISH MOONEY (guest star Jada Pinkett Smith), one of Strange’s subjects. Meanwhile, GCPD Detective HARVEY BULLOCK (Donal Logue) and Captain NATHANIEL BARNES (Michael Chiklis) remain at the forefront of the fight against crime in the monster-ridden city. Also, BRUCE WAYNE (David Mazouz), with the help of his trusted butler and mentor, ALFRED PENNYWORTH (Sean Pertwee), and former Wayne Enterprises employee, LUCIUS FOX (Chris Chalk), discovers there are still more secrets to uncover regarding his parents’ murders.
As the city sinks deeper into chaos, GOTHAM will continue to follow the evolving stories of the city’s most malevolent villains: THE PENGUIN (Robin Lord Taylor); EDWARD NYGMA/the future RIDDLER (Cory Michael Smith); SELINA KYLE/the future CATWOMAN (Camren Bicondova); BARBARA KEAN (Erin Richards), TABITHA GALAVAN/TIGRESS (Jessica Lucas) and BUTCH GILZEAN (Drew Powell). The series also will catch up with the future POISON IVY (Maggie Geha), who, after an encounter with a monster from Indian Hill, finds herself reborn as a young woman who’s harnessed the full power of her charms; and will dive into the origin stories of JERVIS TETCH/MAD HATTER (Benedict Samuel), a talented hypnotist teetering on the edge of madness; and the TWEED BROTHERS.”
Gotham: Heroes Rise will be back with all-new episodes on Monday, April 24 at 8/7c on FOX. Make sure to check back at Heroic Hollywood after every single episode of Season 3 for our weekly reviews. Don’t forget to check out our other roundtable interviews with the cast and producers of the series, including Danny Cannon (executive producer), Jessica Lucas (Tabitha Galavan), Erin Richards (Barbara Kean) and Drew Powell (Butch Gilzean).
10 Batman Villains Who Deserve A Chance On The Big Screen
Batman’s been on the big screen a handful of times, but he still has so many enemies who’ve never been in a movie. I love the Joker, but man-oh-man am I tired of seeing him. Batman’s got one of the most impressive, deep rogue galleries in all of comics, and I think it’s time more of them were given the love they deserve!
Some of these characters might have been in Lego Batman (if Kite-Man was anyone could have been) but that doesn’t really count as an introduction. Look at how well-known someone like Slipknot is now thanks to Suicide Squad. Well, all these people on the list are way better than Slipknot, and should be seen taking on a member of the Bat-family on the big screen soon.
Did I forget your favorite Batman villain? Well let me know in the comment section why I was wrong to not include deadly foes like the Man-Bat and Mad Hatter. Hit Next to find out more about 10 Batman villains who deserve a shot on the big screen.
