Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 reunited fans with their favorite team of unlikely heroes, though the one team member who probably stole more hearts than any other was undoubtedly Baby Groot. While Groot may have been a baby for most of the film’s duration, one of the many post-credits scenes featured an older Groot whose height and dismissive attitude towards Star-Lord caused many to believe that Groot was now a teenager. However, during a Facebook Q &A session, director James Gunn revealed that Groot was actually not a teenager and clarified his true age by the end of the film.
Gunn explained that Groot is actually a few years shy of his teenage years.
“Another minor misconception is that people think that’s Teen Groot at the end of the movie, and I understand why. It’s actually Adolescent Groot. I would call him ‘Tween Groot.’ Or, we call him ‘Adolescent Groot.’ He’s not quite a teenager yet.”
So, it appears Star-Lord may have quite a long time to wait before Groot loses the new attitude he has developed.
Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.
Directed by James Gunn, the film stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell.

5 Reasons ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2’ Is Better Than The Original
When Guardians of the Galaxy hit cinemas in 2014 it surprised everyone. Offering a unique blend of whiz-bang intergalactic excitement, a groovy out-of-this-world soundtrack, a smörgåsbord of oddball characters, and wacky rib-clutching comedy, Guardians had it all. It was definitely the Marvel movie to beat… until Vol. 2 came out.
Offering the same blend of winning ingredients, but amping up the story, the characters, and the emotional resonance, Guardians Vol. 2 accomplishes the rare sequel feat of being even better than the original. A lot of people will disagree with me, but I believe the first film, while excellent, had certain storytelling flaws, which the sequel was able to remarkably overcome. The result is a brand-spanking new adventure for Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Groot, that improves upon the original in several ways.
