Previous1 of 9

potter10 years. Eight movies. The Harry Potter books were what made me love reading as a kid but the Harry Potter films are magic tricks all their own. From finding three young leads to grow up with the series to surrounding them with the best British acting talent available to keeping the creative train moving to the tune of $7.7 billion dollars worldwide, the franchise became second only to Marvel as the highest-grossing film series ever.

Now with the prequel Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them set to kick off a new five film series set in writer J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, let’s look back at one of the most impressive blockbuster franchises ever made. What kind of batting average did the Boy Who Lived have at the multiplex? Wasn’t this site designed for scoops? Getting the good info. Now we get clickbait nonsense lists. A huge disappointment.

    • Fenix

Well with Umberto doing scoops for the Wrap there’s no other scoopers working here.

  • Sallazar

I agree with the ‘Prisoner of Azkaban’ be the best … But the ‘Half Blood Prince’ is the least good…

there is nothing worse about any HP film, all were pretty enjoyable

  • aswary

OotP is the worst for me, by far. Can’t believe it’s at #2 here. Cheap looking, rushed, with a crappy score. It really is the Syfy channel movie version of HP.

But I do agree that PoA is the best.

    My ranking: 3, 4, 7, 1, 8, 6, 2, 5

  • UnBoxingJon

In my opinion, Order of the Phoenix is the most self-contained of the HP movies as well. Best fight. Best performances. The child actors were just olde enough to actually emote, but the grownups were still involved enough that they lifted the heavy dramatic loads. Also, Umbridge, Voldemort, and the minister of Magic as a great antagonist trio.

  • Origami Rose

Azkaban is the best and had the best director

  • Fenix

If you’re going to call deathly hallows pt 2 third act the movie then goblet of fire is “Harry Potter and the 3 set pieces”.

  • Joseph Chaisson

I only saw one Harry Potter movie and it was horrible… After seeing it I had 0 interest in anything Potter. Yes that movie was Chamber of Secrets.
