Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye Rumored To Appear In ‘Ant-Man & The Wasp’

Jeremy Renner is rumored to not have a part in Mission: Impossible 6 due to his focus on playing Hawkeye in Avengers: Infinity War and Ant-Man and the Wasp.

A new report is suggesting that Jeremy Renner won’t be reprising his role as William Brandt in Mission: Impossible 6 because he’ll be busy playing Hawkeye in two Marvel productions – Avengers: Infinity War and… Ant-Man and the Wasp?!

Showbiz 411’s Roger Friedman has claimed that he’s got official confirmation from the higher-ups that Renner will not be returning to the Mission: Impossible series, and that his appearances in the previous two movies in the series were enough for him. The author speculates that Henry Cavill’s character will be replacing Renner’s Brandt on Ethan Hunt’s (Tom Cruise) spy team. Given his involvement with Avengers: Infinity War, which is said to be a year-long production as it and the untitled Avengers sequel film back-to-back (which might actually mean he could be involved with three Marvel movies and we just don’t know it yet). But aside from the two Avengers films, this report suggests that Hawkeye is going to appear in a supporting role for Ant-Man and the Wasp.

The crossover isn’t quite as surprising as it initially appears – the Ant-Man property is already fairly well-known for featuring secondary Marvel heroes in major roles with the inclusion of Falcon (Captain America’s ally/sidekick) in the original movie. B-List Avengers Hawkeye and Ant-Man previously got to know each other in Captain America: Civil War when the size-shifting hero took a ride on one of Hawkeye’s arrows in a successful attempt to infiltrate Iron Man’s armor. Will they pull of the same stunt again? Only time will tell.

Avengers: Infinity War will be released on May 4, 2018, followed by Ant-Man and the Wasp on July 6 of the same year and an untitled Avengers movie on May 3, 2019. It’s currently unclear if Ant-Man will be in either of the Avengers sequels, but it has been confirmed that Wasp will appear in the second.
