Tom Holland On Which Hero Should Be In ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Sequel

'Spider-Man: Homecoming' star Tom Holland reveals which Marvel superhero he would like to see join Spidey in the planned sequel.

Spider-Man MCU
Spider-Man: Homecoming will be the first standalone film where the wall crawler exists in a world shared by other superheroes. While Tony Stark / Iron Man will be playing the role of mentor to Peter Parker in his first solo outing, the billionaire genius will not be returning for the planned sequel, meaning a new hero may be joining the web slinger on his next adventure. In an interview with the Toronto Sun, Tom Holland revealed his pick for which Marvel Superhero should appear in the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel.

Holland explained why he would like to see Ant-Man join Spider-Man in the sequel:

“For me? It would be Ant-Man. I think we could have a really fun time with Spider-Man and Ant-Man. A mini-Spider-Man could be really interesting and so cool. Swinging from that Coke bottle to that glass [he gestures to a coffee table in front of him], but making it look like Manhattan would be insane. It would be a really amazing way to start off the movie. You see Spider-Man swinging around in like Rome or something and he suddenly grows and it turns out he was on a model.”

Considering both Spider-Man and Ant-Man were the most enthusiastic about being recruited by members of The Avengers in Captain America: Civil War, I think it could be fun to see both heroes join forces and have fun saving the day together. Would you like to see Ant-Man appear in the Homecoming sequel or do you have a different hero in mind? Share your thoughts below!

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

Directed by Jon Watts, the film stars Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Michael Chernus, Kenneth Choi, Hannibal Buress, Martin Starr, Michael Barbieri, Angourie Rice, Abraham Attah, Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will be released in theaters on July 7, 2017.
