‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ Season 2A Roundtable

legends-of-tomorrow-ripThe mid-season finale concluded with the big reveal where Rip Hunter actually is as he was seen in L.A., 1967. But for some reason he is now a film director and he is talking with an American accent! What are your predictions about Rip’s return? Could he be undercover or has time travel done something to make him think that he is a film director now?

Andy Behbakht: For a minute, I really thought this was some weird effect of Flashpoint, but when looking at it a second time, it’s definitely something else. I think it would be hilarious if he is undercover because then the question just becomes “for what?!” if you know what I mean. I do wonder what the Legion of Doom will need with him as they teased that they are going after him at the end of the fall finale. However he returns to the show, I just hope that it doesn’t cause an end to Sara’s leadership because while he may be a former Time Master, she is doing a far better job than he mostly did.

Mae Abdulbaki: I knew Rip would be back at some point (didn’t think it’d take this long), but what I didn’t expect was what we got at the end of the midseason finale. He’s a film director? In 1967? With an American accent? Whaaaat?! He could very well be undercover… or, as I suspect, his entire death may have been staged. There’s something we’re definitely missing, but the moment definitely had me scratching my head. At the same time, I’m… cautiously intrigued by what he’s been up to and how he’ll get back into the fold.

Andrew McBride: This was really weird, but I absolutely love the idea of Rip Hunter just being like, “Screw all this time travel stuff. You know what’s cool? Being a film director is cool,” and just bouncing. I really wish that was what happened. But, obviously, he is going to return in some way down the road, the tease assured us that much. Undercover is a possibility, I guess. Maybe he knows about the Legion of Doom? I doubt it’s the effects of time-travel to his psyche, he’s been time jumping for so long, but it would explain the odd choice of profession. I really don’t know what’s going on here.
