Luke CageJessica Jones started production on Season 2 in New York not too long ago and it looks like Luke Cage has now also kicked off filming for its upcoming season. On Location Vacations is reporting that Season 2 of the Power Man series has started production in New York.

Not much is known about the second season of Luke Cage other than that two major characters are being cast as series regulars. According to a recent report, “BYRON” and “TAMARA” are possibly code names for the Marvel villain Bushmaster and Luke’s sister respectively.

“BYRON: 30 – 45, 6’0 or taller, Jamaican, but open to Black Caribbean or African Descent. The smartest man any room, the most effortlessly powerful man in any situation. A natural leader, brimming with resentment but focused on justice. Physically fit and wildly intelligent. Speaks with a native accent from Jamaica / Caribbean / Africa, etc.* SERIES REGULAR

TAMARA: mid-20’s – early 30’s, African American, female, earthy. A brilliant, confident business owner who prides herself on her independence.. As much as she tries to stay far from trouble, it seems to always find her.* ACTORS MUST BE STRONG SINGERS. SERIES REGULAR”

Mike Colter will reprise the role of Luke Cage in Marvel’s The Defenders, starring Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Finn Jones as Danny Rand/Iron Fist, Élodie Yung as Elektra Natchios and Sigourney Weaver as Alexandra, with Season 1 set to hit Netflix on Friday, August 18.

Luke Cage Season 2 is reportedly being released on Netflix sometime in 2018.

Netflix Marvel Defenders
With the release of the first season of Iron Fist, all four Defenders have made their streaming debut to set up this summer’s mashup miniseries The Defenders. Each season has built on the last, building an intricate mythology with a living, breathing New York City to house it. The Hand has been introduced as a sort of evil S.H.I.E.L.D. to link Marvel’s Netflix dramas, building to the four uniting against them. Their separate investigations will bring them together in – what else – a hallway fight.

The culmination of the first phase of the Marvel/Netflix partnership has a lot of ‘splaining to do. What’s the Hand’s true objective? How will our four heroes interact together and how will the supporting casts of their shows intersect here? And perhaps most importantly, who is the Big Bad played by Sigourney Weaver?

We’ll talk about all that and more in the article ahead. Click Next to start!
