‘Avengers: Infinity War’: Mantis From ‘Guardians’ May Appear

Avengers Infinity War Marvel Studios

Mantis from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 could make an appearance in Avengers: Infinity War.

One of the highlights from the fantastic Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer was when a new character, Mantis, revealed Star Lord’s “deepest, darkest secret” to Gamora. From that scene alone, it appears that Pom Klementieff’s Mantis will provide the Guardians another source of comedic gold.

Now, however, it could be that Mantis will have another appearance on the big screen not long after her debut. Pom Klementieff posted a picture on Instagram from Avengers #123, which features Mantis on the cover.

In and of itself, the picture and caption does not reveal much. The interesting thing is the tagged location of Atlanta, GA which is where Avengers: Infinity War is currently filming. This post means even more considering Dave Bautista’s (Drax) confirmation that he begins shooting his scenes today. If Klementieff is indeed preparing to film her scenes in Atlanta, it’s easy to assume that the movie will begin with a Guardians-centric intro of some sort.

Infinity War seems like it will feature just about every character from the MCU at this point. Almost all of the main characters from the films are confirmed to have a role, and there are some new faces that are reportedly going to make an appearance such as whomever Peter Dinklage will play.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 premieres May 5, 2017. Avengers: Infinity War is slated for a year later on May 4, 2018.
