While we still don’t have an official release date for it, Marvel’s The Punisher will be hitting Netflix sometime this year when Jon Bernthal returns to the role of Frank Castle. Jason R. Moore, who will be playing the Marvel character Curtis Hoyle, shared recently on his Twitter page a new teaser poster for the show with the iconic skull logo, reminding everyone that the Punisher series is on its way.

With The Defenders hitting Netflix on Friday, August 18, we might get The Punisher sometime in November or December. A release date might be announced either before or right after San Diego Comic-Con which is taking place in July.

Marvel’s The Punisher, starring Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead) as Frank Castle, Ben Barnes as Billy Russo (The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Girls) as Micro, Jason R. Moore (A Lonely Place for Dying) as Curtis Hoyle, Daniel Webber (11.22.63) as Lewis Walcott, Paul Schulze (Nurse Jackie) as Rawlins, Jaime Ray Newman (Bates Motel) as Sarah Lieberman, Michael Nathanson (The Knick) as Sam Stein, and Deborah Ann Woll (Daredevil) as Karen Page, is set to come out on Netflix later this year.
Steve Lightfoot (Hannibal, Casualty) is attached as the show-runner and executive producer who wrote the first two episodes of the series. Marvel TV President Jeph Loeb along with Jim Chory are also executive producing.

New Comic Book Shows That Are Coming In 2017-2018
The current TV season is pretty much done as several comic book and superhero TV shows have concluded their respective seasons. All the comic book shows that aired this year will be back for the new TV season with The CW’s The Flash, Supergirl, Riverdale, iZombie, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, with ABC bringing Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. back for another season and FOX giving Gotham and Lucifer another go.
FX is also bringing back their new comic book TV hit series with Legion while AMC is bringing back The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead for new seasons, along with their new Vertigo hit Preacher. While the comic book TV landscape is already epic in scope, it’s only going to get bigger next year. The 2017-2018 television season is going to be one of the biggest seasons of all time for comic book adaptations for both DC and Marvel.
