‘Riverdale’ Season 2 Officially Starts Production Tomorrow

RiverdaleThe first season of the Archie Comics live-action series Riverdale ended on a deadly cliffhanger after we saw Fred Andrews (Luke Perry) getting shot. While we have to wait all the way till October to find out if he survived, the show is getting ready to film its second season in Vancouver, Canada.

Archie Comics’ official Twitter account shared the news that Riverdale is set to start filming its second season tomorrow. Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa revealed a couple of weeks ago that the season two premiere will be titled “A Kiss Before Dying”.

Aquirre-Sacasa has also revealed in past weeks the episode titles for 2.02 and 2.03 which are called “Nighthawks” and “The Watcher In The Woods”. Not much is known about Season 2 of Riverdale so far, but new details will most likely be revealed at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con which is happening next month. The Arrowverse will be starting filming on their new respective seasons next month.

The only details we have about Season 2 so far is that both Casey Cott’s Kevin Keller and Skeet Ulrich’s FP Jones have been promoted to series regulars. In addition to that, Charles Melton will be taking over the role of Reggie Mantle from Ross Butler. Pitch’s Mark Consuelos has also joined Riverdale for its second season as Hiram Lodge, the troubled husband of Hermione (Marisol Nichols) and father of Veronica (Camila Mendes).

Riverdale Season 2 is set to premiere on Wednesday, October 11 at 8/7c on The CW. The complete first season of Riverdale will be available on Blu-Ray and DVD on August 15.
