It’s sad, but true. Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple will not be appearing in The Punisher. Dawson confirmed this bit of news in an interview with Collider while promoting her latest film, Unforgettable.
“People are busy! There are so many times where I really want it to happen. I really wanted to do a cameo on The Punisher, but it doesn’t always work that way.”
This breaks the streak the actress has had with her appearances across the Marvel/Netflix shows. From the very beginning, Claire Temple is the only character to have appeared in every single show in the shared universe. From her appearance in the first season of Daredevil through this year’s The Defenders, which will premiere in November, Claire has been the uniting force and link between all of the characters, so it’s kind of sad to hear that she won’t be reprising her role for The Punisher.
Surely, she’ll be back again at some point down the line and at least if she’s not appearing in The Punisher, she has less of a chance of getting caught up in all the danger that surrounds Jon Bernthal’s character (not that she hasn’t been in danger before).
You can read the synopsis for The Punisher below.
After the murder of his family, Frank Castle is both haunted and hunted. In the criminal underworld, he’ll become known as The Punisher.
The Punisher doesn’t have a premiere date yet, but it’s thought to be arriving on Netflix at some point later this year.

10 Movie & TV Villains Who Actually Beat The Heroes
A few weeks ago, the sci-fi horror film Life hit theaters. The tale of an unstoppable alien stalking a group of heroic astronauts on the International Space Station had the right amount of terror, intrigue and characters. We here at Heroic Hollywood liked it. One thing about the movie that was awesome was its ending. It’s been a few weeks, so most of you all probably know, but the alien ends up being the victor, killing the crew and assumingly conquers planet Earth. Life continues the fun trend of when the villains in the movie win.
This makes you think… what about other times where the villain actually wins? In the world of heroes who constantly face insurmountable odds and almost always end up being the victor (after all, who wants it for the good guy to not be triumphant?), there have been a few times many films based on comic book properties where the villain is actually the victor, even when they lose.
Here are a few examples of when our heroes are actually bested by the bad guys, even if the heroes technically win the day. Click Next to take a look….
