Star Trek: Discovery is currently on episode five of the fifteen scheduled to air later this year. The show’s producer, Alex Kurtzman, who also co-wrote 2009’s Star Trek and its follow-up Star Trek Into Darkness, recently spoke with Collider and is ready for people to see it and was “extremely pleased” with the way the trailer was received.
“I’m really excited for everybody to see Trek and I was extremely pleased with the reception that our trailer got. It was awesome, it was really cool.”
Kurtzman also wanted to assure Star Trek fans that the writers’ room is full of fans as well, so they’re very well-versed in the world and “really excited.”
“All I’m gonna say now is that you’re talking about a show that’s being written by a roomful of fans who all have very different relationships to Trek, and I think that’s a healthy thing and it’s a good thing. They love different aspects of Trek. We’re really excited with how the scripts are going; the scripts are going great.”
Star Trek: Discovery will air all fifteen episodes on CBS All Access, with the pilot premiering on CBS. There’s no premiere date yet, but the series is set to air in the fall of this year.
