Star Wars fans have been waiting for months to get a look at the next chapter in the main saga. After months of teasing and giving the press a tease of footage, the wait is finally over. The first trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi is here. The trailer was unveiled in front of the crowd at Star Wars Celebration in Orlando. You can check it out below.

The Last Jedi will pick up directly where The Force Awakens left off. The film will dig deeper into the new characters introduced in Episode VII as it explores Kylo Ren’s humanity as well as how Rey deals with the discovery of the force inside her. FN-2187 himself, John Boyega, has said that director Rian Johnson has managed to craft a Star Wars film that has an “indie movie” feel.

Written and directed by Rian Johnson, The Last Jedi stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie and Andy Serkis. Newly introduced to the saga are newcomers Laura Dern, Kelly Marie Tran and Benicio del Toro.

The Last Jedi is set to hit theaters on December 15, 2017.
