‘Supergirl’ Season 2 To Add Lex Luthor’s Sister, Maggie Sawyer & 3 More Characters

Supergirl will be moving from CBS over to The CW for Season 2 and we are now already learning new details what the second season will feature as we just recently learned that Superman is currently being cast for the first two episodes. TV Line revealed today that the second season is currently casting for five new roles where two of them will be series regulars while the other three will be recurring guest stars, so let’s go through them!

The first one will be quite familiar to Superman fans as she shares the last name of the Man of Steel’s greatest enemy: Lex Luthor. The show is casting for Lena Luthor who will be somewhere between 25-35 years old. She is moving to National City, as a way to get out of her infamous brother’s shadows. Lena is described as sexy, smart and determined to get what she wants. But her desires remain a secret.

The second new series regular is Nick Farrow, described as a “brash leading man” who will be butting heads with Kara at CatCo. He is the son of a famous reporter and he is all about making a name for himself in the world of journalism. The casting call teases that he might have a struggle leaving behind his “former selfish” as “hedonistic ways will constantly arise”. There seems to be a chance that Kara might be what inspires the hero within Nick to come out.

Then there are three recurring guest roles that are being cast with “Maggie” who is definitely Maggie Sawyer, who is an “out and proud detective for Science Police, which deals specifically with metahuman and alien threats.” Then there is a mysterious character called “The Doctor” who is described as a diabolical leader of Project Cadmus and uses her surgical skills to implant test subjects with alien technology. Last, but not least, Snapper Carr, also a character from the comics that is “a veteran journalist appointed by Cat to remake the news division by going old school”.

Supergirl will debut its second season on Monday nights at 8/7c on The CW in October.
