‘Superman & Lois’ Will Go On Hiatus After COVID-19 Production Pause

Supergirl will take the Superman and Lois timeslot until the hit series returns.

The CW announced Superman and Lois will go on a hiatus after episode five due to production being impacted by COVID-19.

Superman and Lois is off to a successful start, with The CW already announcing a second season after the premiere earned positive reactions and TV ratings. Superman and Lois’ season one will consist of 15 episodes, with production still underway in Canada. Still, due to a recent production shutdown after a positive COVID-19 test, the series will go on a break after episode five debuts on March 25.

Supergirl‘s final season premiere will take Superman and Lois‘ timeslot on March 30. The CW also shared the first season of Superman and Lois is currently scheduled to make a return on May 18.

Here is the synopsis for the most recent episode titled “Heritage”:

While adjusting to their new lives in Smallville, Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) and Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) make an important decision concerning one of their sons. Meanwhile, tensions begin to rise between Lois and Morgan Edge (Adam Rayner). Lastly, Lana Lang Cushing (Emmanuelle Chriqui) invites the Kent family over for a barbecue.

In addition to Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent and Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane, the series stars Jordan Elsass and Alexander Garfin as the sons of the titular characters, Dylan Walsh as General Sam Lane, Emmanuelle Chriqui as Lana Lang, and Erik Valdez as Kyle Cushing. Written by The Flash‘s Todd Helbing, the series will be executive produced by Helbing, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Geoff Johns.
