When Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters later this year it promises to deliver one of the most unique viewing experiences of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now fans have been given a brief preview of the film in bonus material featured on the home video release of Doctor Strange. In a special “Phase 3 Preview”, director Taika Waititi and executive producer Brad Winderbaum offered small details on the films action, humor and the relationship between Thor and Hulk.
Executive producer Brad Winderbaum stated that Thor: Ragnarok will feature action unlike any previous Marvel Studios film.
“It’s going to have some of the wildest, craziest, most amazing action you’ve ever seen in the MCU.”
With portions of the story including elements of the comic book Planet Hulk, teased in new concept art for Thor: Ragnarok, Winderbaum had a simple but appropriate description for the dynamic between the God of Thunder and the Green Goliath.
“The Thor/Hulk relationship is one that is incredible.”
Director Taika Waititi reiterated his previous comments about including humor in the film alongside the visual splendor.
“I want to take people on an adventure that keeps people laughing along the way, but also has the spectacle.”
While even some of the most serious entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe include humorous elements, fans of Taika Waititi’s work know that the filmmaker has his own unique comedic style that when combined with the cosmic visuals of Thor’s world will undoubtedly result in a special film.
In Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok“, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladictorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!
Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins.
Thor: Ragnarok will be released in theaters on November 3, 2017.
