Mark Wahlberg Reminds Us He’s An Inventor In ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ Clip

Transformers

During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Mark Wahlberg, who first joined the Transformers franchise in 2014’s Transformers: Age of Extinction, took a moment to talk about his appearance in the upcoming sequel, Transformers: The Last Knight.

Here is what the actor said about his character’s journey this time around:

“When you meet me now, I’ve basically sacrified my relationship with my daughter to go on the run to give her a life so she could kind of be intigrated back into society, go to college. And then I’m on the run and I get brought to England by Anthony Hopkins’ character and thrust in with this other woman who is a professor at Oxford, and basically we have to kind of go and figure out the mythology of the Transformers. How they started and the relationship between them and humans. Optimus Prime now has turned bad and we have to fix this situation.”

Wahlberg also spoke a bit about working with Sir Anthony Hopkins on the film:

“He’s a sweetheart. He’s fantastic, and you know, obviously, he’s a legend, but to how prepared he was. He’s got these long monologues and I’m like, ‘Oh my god, poor guy. He’s not gonna be able to learn all this stuff. It’s just like mumbo jumbo.’ But he is so good, so professional, and such a kind guy, and he was so excited to be there. He was improvising a lot of American slang. It’s funny, funny stuff.”

Additionally, Wahlberg shared a clip from the film featuring his character, Cade Yeager, talking about being an inventor in a scene with Hopkins and Laura Haddock’s characters. Check it out below:

Directed by Michael Bay, Transformers: The Last Knight stars Mark Wahlberg, Isabela Moner, Stanley Tucci, Laura Haddock, Anthony Hopkins, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Santiago Cabrera, Jerrod Carmichael, Liam Garrigan, Peter Cullen and John Goodman.

The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).

“There comes a moment in everyone’s life when we are called upon to make a difference. In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive: theirs, or ours.”

Transformers: The Last Knight hits theaters on June 21, 2017.

Top 10 Movie Trailers From This Summer That Will Fire You Up

Previous1 of 11

TrailersEvery year, an avalanche of trailers, teasers, TV spots flood the Internet, trying to grab the attention of busy and overstimulated audiences. It’s gotten to the point where now, trailers are such a commodity, that the trailers themselves have teasers. There’s a reason: trailers, when they’re good, can be an artform all their own.

I love trailers, being the guy who is always rushing his friends and family to the theater early “so we don’t miss the previews.” Every summer, I make a YouTube playlist of my favorites that acts as my own personal radio station because frankly, sometimes, I vibe more to how the trailer is cut than the music in it or, in bad cases, the movies themselves when I finally catch them on-screen. It’s gotten to the point that I imagine and dream in a trailer format, with music setting the pace for a smash-cut of scenes that I want to write or just enjoy the fantasy of.

If you love a good trailer like I love a good trailer, this list is for you. Here’s what I consider the top 10 trailers for the summer 2017. Click Next to start!
