‘Wonder Woman’ To Surpass ‘Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2’ To Become 3rd Biggest WB Film Domestically

Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman is set to surpass Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 to become the third highest-grossing Warner Bros. film. While Wonder Woman slipped out of the top five at the box office, it did spend seven weeks there and also made an additional $6.7 million at the box office this weekend. The superhero film should soar to $381 million by Monday.

Currently, its biggest competition is Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which has grossed a domestic total of $386.2 million and should pass the film soon enough. Currently, Wonder Woman is the highest-grossing DCEU film in the U.S., having beaten out Man of SteelBatman v Superman and Suicide Squad.

The film stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Robin Wright as General Antiope, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Lisa Loven Kongsli as Menalippe, Danny Huston as General Erich Ludendorff, David Thewlis as Sir Patrick Morgan, Elena Anaya as Doctor Maru, Ewen Bremner as Charlie, Saïd Taghmaoui as Sameer and Eugene Brave Rock as the Chief. Here’s the official synopsis:

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Wonder Woman is now playing in theaters nationwide.
