Wonder Woman will open in North American theaters tomorrow, but the film has already launched in six offshore markets where Deadline reports that it has earned $6.3 million through Wednesday. The film is currently dominating in the Asian markets where it has debuted, including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and Indonesia.
Wonder Woman had an opening day gross of $1.3 million in Taiwan and $601 thousand in Hong Kong, where the film debuted on Tuesday.
In Taiwan, Wonder Woman earned the title of third biggest Warner Bros. opening of all-time where it also topped the opening day gross of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Doctor Strange, Suicide Squad, Thor, Man Of Steel, Ant-Man, Captain America: The First Avenger and both Guardians Of The Galaxy films. So far, the film has earned $1.8 million over the last two days.
Wonder Woman became the fourth biggest Warner Bros. opening in Hong Kong, where it has earned $829 thousand since it launched. The film also bested the opening day gross of Deadpool, Suicide Squad, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, Man Of Steel, Logan, Thor, Captain America: First Avenger and both Guardians of the Galaxy films.
In Korea, Wonder Woman opened on Wednesday with $1.2 Million and surpassed the opening day intake of Doctor Strange, Thor, Captain America: First Avenger and both Guardians of the Galaxy films.
Wonder Woman also became the second biggest opening for Warner Bros. in Indonesia, where the film opened on Wednesday with $803 thousand.
