Wonder Woman’s Role In ‘Justice League’ Has Not Changed

Justice League Wonder WomanOne of the most buzzed aspects of the DC Extended Universe is Diana Prince a.k.a. Wonder Woman since the release of her solo-film. Gal Gadot, who plays the Amazon Princess, will be seen again on the big screen later this year in Justice League where she unites with several DC heroes to form iconic group.

Geoff Johns and Jon Berg, who are the heads of the DC Films division at Warner Bros., recently spoke with Variety about the future of the superhero movies that the studios are working on. Given the major success of Wonder Woman, will the additional scenes that are being shot for Justice League increase the size of Diana’s role in the new film?

It turns out that Diana’s role in Justice League hasn’t changed at all. While Berg confirmed that nothing has changed, he made it clear that Wonder Woman already has a big role in the upcoming DC film.

“Her role won’t change, but she was already playing a big role. People really responded to Gal [Gadot] in “Batman v. Superman.” We knew we had something special.”

“Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.”

Zack Snyder’s Justice League, starring Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Ezra Miller as  Barry Allen/The Flash, Ray Fisher as Victor Stone/Cyborg, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Amber Heard as Mera, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Connie Nielson as Queen Hippolyta and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner James Gordon, is set to open in theaters on Friday, November 17,
