‘Wonder Woman’ Is The Most Tweeted About Movie Of 2017

Wonder WomanVariety reports Wonder Woman is the most tweeted about film of 2017 in the United States.

After setting the new record opening gross for a female directed film at the domestic box office, the DCEU’s first female-led installment is continuing to break records.

According to the outlet, Wonder Woman has broken the record of tweets about a film this year with a total of 2.19 million tweets surpassing this year’s biggest box office juggernaut, Disneys live-action adaptation of the animated classic Beauty and the Beast ( which took $1.2 billion at the worldwide box office) on social media.

The film’s most tweeted about names are Gal Gadot, who plays the titular superheroine in the blockbuster, followed by the film’s director Patty Jenkins in second and Chris Pine who plays Steve Trevor in third.

Gadot’s most popular tweets came from her personal twitter account which saw the premiere of two trailers as well as a poster for the blockbuster. As the week continues, Wonder Woman is only gaining more momentum. The film which is headed into its second weekend is expected see as little as a 50% drop this weekend, which would earn the film another $50 million at the domestic box office, topping the debut of Universal’s Dark Universe starter The Mummy starring Tom Cruise.
