‘X-Men: The New Mutants’ Begins Filming Today, Josh Boone Gets Gag Gift

X-Men The New MutantsEarlier this month, some of the cast of X-Men: The New Mutants were seen on location in Boston via instagram enjoying themselves. Now it seems that director/writer Josh Boone and even cinematographer Peter Deming is getting in on the fun a day before filming begins.

The working title for the film is “Growing Pains” and through a gag gift from Deming to Boone, that’s being leaned into pretty hard along with the 80’s/90’s vibe that Fox has created with its recent X-Men installments such as X-Men: Apocalypse and Deadpool. Boone shared a customized slate with the cast of Growing Pains on it, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Alan Thicke and Kirk Cameron. The trademark X-logo can be seen in the “O” of the title and more subtly on Cameron’s sweater.
