Cubix was a short-lived show from the era of early 2000’s cartoons. Imagine a world inundated by robots where a special few of them are advanced enough to synthesize their own emotions. We follow a young boy moving to the big city ready for a brand new adventure. Connor loves robots but his father is suspicious of them and wants to keep his son away from them. Upon moving to Bubble Town (seriously), the robot capital of the world, Connor tries to get a robot somehow. A scientist at RobixCorp challenges him and says if he can fix a robot, he can keep it.
Unbeknownst to Connor, he picks Cubix, a one of a kind robot everyone thinks is too damaged to be restored. Well, as I’m sure you can guess, Connor fixes Cubix and the two of them develop a tight bond. The show is esentially a weird mixture of Transformers and Pokemon. Everyone has their own giant robot that they get to train and fight with, but at the end of the day the main characters are a bunch of children who don’t understand the world around them. The show didn’t have a huge following, so it’s up to the producers to make the world look as unique and lively as possible to draw eyes to the project. Fighting robots are hot right now, and Cubix could easily jump onto the trend and make some poor studio somewhere some cash.
