’24: Legacy’: Eric Carter Can’t Escape His Past In A New Featurette

24
In just over two weeks, Fox’s real-time hit series 24 is back in the form of a reboot titled 24: Legacy. Legacy is technically a continuation of the original series but no doubt hits the reset button like all reboots do.

The new series stars Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton) as Eric Carter, a former special forces soldier who has just returned home from the middle east after leading a successful mission to terminate the leader of a major terrorist organization, Bin-Khalid.

Carter’s hellish day begins when he realizes he’s been targeted by members of Khalid’s organization who are operating within the United States. With no one to trust, Carter turns to the former head of the Counter Terrorist Unit, Rebecca Ingram (Miranda Coto) who coordinated his mission in the middle east.

Fox has released a new featurette which gives us the most in-depth look at the new series yet. Executive Producers Howard Gordon, Manny Coto and Evan Katz and take you inside Legacy, teasing what was originally developed as an original series but became the new 24 when the producers realized the story would be much more energetic and exciting if they were to inject it wth the real-time format.

The featurette teases all the familiar tropes of 24 from moles to Presidential candidates and even teases a mysterious terror plot. The featurette also reveals an all-new look and color for the iconic ticking clock which has swapped yellow for blue.

While the producers promise you don’t need to have seen the original series to start watching Legacy, the series will connect back to 24 as the fan-favorite Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard) is set to return sometime during the 12-episode season.

24: Legacy also stars Jimmy Smits, Teddy Sears, Dan Bucatinsky, Anna Diop, Ashley Thomas, Coral Peña, Renah Gallagher, Charlie Hofheimer, and Raphael Acloque.

The clock resets Sunday, February 5th after the Superbowl.

Here’s the official synopsis:

A military hero who returns to the U.S. with a whole lot trouble following him back. With nowhere else to turn, the man asks CTU to help him save his life while also stopping one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil.
