Earlier this month, Michael Shannon who played General Zod in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel talked with Vulture about his upcoming movie 99 Homes, where he revealed that he had flippers instead of hands while filming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which quickly spawned tons of rumors regarding the actor’s role in the movie, and how the flippers may be connected to the Doomsday rumors.
Well it seems that Shannon himself was surprised to find out that he’s in the movie, because as the actor revealed in a recent interview with The Daily Beast, he hasn’t even seen the the comic-con trailer yet.
Apparently, Zod’s role in Batman v Superman:Dawn of Justice, will be similar to that of Russell Crowe’s Jor-El in Man of Steel. Shannon did reveal that he did some voice-over work for the movie though, but he claims that he didn’t shoot any scenes in full costume.
When asked about the Vulture interview that started the whole thing, the actor replied with a baffled smile, saying:
Finally, the actor said that he would be more than happy to don the flippers and return for a Man of Steel follow-up if Zack Snyder asked him to do so.
