With Kong: Skull Island hitting cinemas next week, Warner Bros. has released four new TV spots for the film. Two of them feature quotes from critics along with some new footage. So far, Kong: Skull Island has received stellar reviews from critics, securing an 83% on Rotten Tomatoes. On the other hand, 2014’s Godzilla only managed to cement a 74% on Rotten Tomatoes. Seeing that they’re both in the same cinematic universe, it’s great to see a studio and team improving their critical score.
You can check out the four new TV spots below:
In 1971, a secretive organization known as Monarch finds an island that is shrouded in mystery and identified as the origin for new species. The resulting expedition to the island reveals that a giant monstrous ape named Kong is at the centre of a battle for dominion over the island, against the apex predators, nicknamed “Skullcrawlers”, responsible for wiping out his kind. As the expedition crew makes plans to fight for survival against Kong and the other monsters on the island, some of them begin to see that Kong is worth saving.
Kong: Skull Island was recently featured on our most anticipated movies of March list, where we discussed how excited we are to see him fight Godzilla in 2020’s Godzilla vs. Kong.
Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts and starring Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, Jing Tian, Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, Toby Kebbell and John C. Reilly.
Kong: Skull Island hits cinemas on March 10th.
