While it remains to be seen whether there will be crossovers between Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and ABC’s next Marvel series, The Inhumans, it looks like a recurring director of the spy series is heading over to the Royal Family. Kevin Tancharoen, director Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episodes which was co-created by his sister Maurissa Tancharoen, shared on his Instagram a few days ago that he was doing location scouting in Oahu, Hawaii.
Could it be for The Inhumans which is currently filming its first season in Oahu? This is most likely the case and it’s not really that surprising that a fellow ABC Studios production would recruit someone like Tancharoen given his work at ABC with S.H.I.E.L.D.
Tancharoen has at this point become a recurring director in several superhero television shows from S.H.I.E.L.D., Iron Fist, to the DC TV shows on The CW. The Inhumans has already been picked up to series for an 8-episode season, with the first two episodes being shown in IMAX theaters starting in early September before the series premiere on ABC.
“After the Royal Family of Inhumans is splintered by a military coup, they barely escape to Hawaii where their surprising interactions with the lush world and humanity may prove to not only save them, but Earth itself.”
Marvel’s The Inhumans, starring Anson Mount (Hell on Wheels) as Black Bolt, Serinda Swan (Smallville) as Medusa, Iwan Rhoen (Game of Thrones) as Maximus the Mad and Ken Leung (LOST) as Karnak, Eme Ikwuakor (Concussion) as Gorgon, Isabelle Cornish (Australia Day) as Crystal, Mike Moh (Empire) as Triton, Sonya Balmores (Beyond the Break) as Auran, and Ellen Woglom (Californication), premieres on Tuesday, September 26 on ABC – no official timeslot has been given yet.
