‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ EP Addresses Fan Theory On The Framework

Agents Shield Framework
The final story arc for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s fourth season has centered on Daisy and Jemma’s efforts to rescue their friends from the alternate reality known as The Framework before they’re all trapped inside forever. Created by Aida, the Framework depicts a world where Hydra has gained power with our heroes taking over Avatars within the fictional reality. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Jed Whedon addressed the fan theory that an avatar such as Ward or Trip could take control over a human in the real world.

Whedon confirmed that an avatar in the Framework could take over human body, but suggested fans shouldn’t expect that to occur on the series.

“Yeah, well, I mean in theory. Our story didn’t [go there.] There are rules for that because thankfully we can do anything.”

So, while anything is still possible, it appears fans hoping that the alternate versions of Ward and Trip might find a way to return to the real world are likely going to be disappointed.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs on Tuesday at 10:00 pm ET on ABC. Be sure to check back with Heroic Hollywood after each episode for weekly reviews!

Iron Fist
This weekend the fourth collaboration of Marvel and Netflix, Iron Fist, dropped on the streaming service. Although the first 6 episodes were panned by critics, fans spent much of the weekend binge-watching the new Marvel show. Based on social media reactions, Iron Fist was still received rather well and it looks like Marvel and Netflix once again have a hit on their hands. We here at Heroic Hollywood have been binge-watching it as well. You can see our reviews in episodic spurts here, here and here, with more to come.

Being in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as the street level Defenders Universe, there’s a lot of connective tissue in Iron Fist. We already know that Madame Gao, Jerri Hogarth and Claire Temple –who appeared in other properties — would be on the show. However, there is a plethora of other cool stuff that shows up on Iron Fist. Here are a few easter eggs connecting the show to the MCU, plus a few other things. Click Next to take a look.
