Last night’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ended with a twist as Holden Radcliffe (John Hannah) revealed his true side, as AIDA was trying to get the Darkhold for one person and one person only: Radcliffe himself. We have only begun to learn what he wants with it. In a post-mortem interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer and show-runner Jed Whedon talked about that big twist from last night’s mid-season premiere.
“Radcliffe says at the end of episode 9 that he wants the Darkhold. He glimpsed it, and it has its hooks into him. He’s just doing something very innocent to try to get it back. He’s not going to harm a soul. He may have over-calibrated a little bit on that [when talking about AIDA]. We explore him as our baddie.”
