The last episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. concluded with Daisy and Simmons entering an alternate reality to rescue their friends from a world where Hydra has gained control. With the series set to return next week, executive producer Jed Whedon told Entertainment Weekly that the writers are planning to conclude the season with a fifth year in mind despite there being no official world on the show’s future.
Whedon explained that the show is planning a season finale rather than a series finale.
“We are going to make it a thrilling end regardless, but we don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.”
