We are less than one week away from the return of the ABC Marvel drama, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. which will be kicking off its second story arc “LMD” with AIDA rising as the new big bad. The last few episodes of the first half of Season 4 showed us her path towards getting corrupted as she came in contact with the Darkhold. However, AIDA won’t be the only mystery that the show deals with when it returns as we will also be following Director Jeffrey Mace
In a recent interview with TV Line during their Winter TV Preview featuring scoops for multiple returning shows, Jason O’Mara teased that we will be learning quite a lot about his background. O’Mara also talked about how viewers will learn about how Mace got his abilities as well as teasing his interactions with Daisy after restoring her public image in the fall finale.
“How Mace got his powers, his whole backstory, is going to be a major part of the next batch of episodes. How he legitimizes Daisy is going to be revealed as well, so there’s lots to look forward to there.”
It should be noted that episode 10 of the fourth season is titled “The Patriot” which is the superhero name that Mace went by in the comic books. Based on the official description, fans should definitely be keeping a close eye on this upcoming episode.
