An awesome new concept design pictures The Umbrella Academy star Aidan Gallagher as the Damian Wayne version of Robin for The Batman.
Best known for his role as Number Five on Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy, Aidan Gallagher is often fan cast as Robin for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman. Details for the Matt Reeves-directed movie are currently scarce, but with such a huge cast, it wouldn’t be surprising if the next Dark Knight needed a Robin.
Multiple names have been tossed out for the role of Robin, but Aidan Gallagher of The Umbrella Academy fame is one of the most inspiring pieces of casting we’ve seen. The Umbrella Academy star Aidan Gallagher would make a pretty solid Robin considering that the 16-year-old actor is at the perfect age to play the Boy Wonder right now. Beyond that, Gallagher does play a superhero in The Umbrella Academy, which means he’s already aware of what it would take to be Robin for The Batman.

Who is your favourite Robin ? (Jason Todd is Mine!) . – @aidanrgallagher as Damian Wayne ! – Been a while since I’ve done a Damian Wayne artwork, and everytime I do, its of my man Aidan. He’s so good in @umbrellaacad and I can’t wait to see him and his crew kill it in Season 2. Here’s a poster I put together, Enjoy ! – Follow me for more! @mizuriofficial
The artwork shows The Umbrella Academy star Aidan Gallagher wearing a darkened, more gritty Robin suit, which would perfectly line up with the tone for the more detective-driven The Batman. At this point, it’s uncertain if The Batman will be casting a Robin anytime soon. The Batman is quite stacked but if they’re looking for a Robin, we’re sure that Gallagher would be perfect for the role.

Full plot details for The Batman are being kept under lock and key, but we know that the film will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and feature a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that includes Catwoman, The Penguin, and The Riddler. The Matt Reeves film will follow Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector and will make use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC films. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new Batman trilogy with Robert Pattinson.
Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, the film stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, and Paul Dano as the Riddler. Andy Serkis is in talks to play Alfred Pennyworth while Colin Farrell is being eyed for The Penguin.
The Batman arrives in theaters on October 1, 2020. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Aidan Gallagher, The Umbrella Academy and Batman’s future on the big screen.
