With Solo: A Star Wars Story in theaters now, it turns out that the internet seems to like Alden Ehrenreich’s version of Han Solo.
Since the it’s debut earlier this weekend, the latest Star Wars film has sadly struggled to at the box office both worldwide and domestically. Most people who went to see it, however, were pleasantly surprised by the film overall. One of the biggest surprises, however, was Alden Ehrenrich’s performance as the younger version of Han Solo. Take a look at what people have to say about it below:
After watching Solo, I think everyone owes Alden Ehrenreich a huge apology. Not only was the film fantastic, he did great service to the character of Han Solo.

Another note on Solo. Alden Ehrenreich was really good. He doesn't have Harrison Ford's swagger, but he's not supposed to. It's supposed to be Han 10 years before A New Hope. In Solo, Ehrenreich is cocky with a touch of nervousness, which is exactly the right note.

Two years later – I am pleased to report that Alden Ehrenreich is rather wonderful as Han Solo. It took me like 5 minutes to get over the fact that it wasn't Harrison Ford, #SoloAStarWarsStory is fun! That's all I was hoping for. https://t.co/ZcDgix6Bbi

Alden Ehrenreich was incredible as Han. It takes a little while to get used to him, but after that you get to see a younger version of Harrison Ford’s character. So down to see to Alden return! pic.twitter.com/0b61EePmio

The reactions to his performance are not surprising. The film was hit with a wave of negative publicity following the firing of former directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller. The reasoning behind their departure was shrouded in mystery but the pieces have been slowly coming together. Towards the end of principle photography the directors reportedly had to get Ehrenreich an acting coach for the part, leading people to believe that he would give a terrible performance. As it turned out, however, it was merely different and enthusiastic. It was just another surprise in a film that turned out to be an overall pleasant treat.
