Alex Ross Compares ‘Justice League’ Poster To His Artwork

Justice League Alex RossBeloved comic artist Alex Ross took to Twitter to express similarities between the latest Justice League poster and his comic artwork. He posted the poster side-by-side with his artwork with the caption “Look familiar..?”

Ross seems to want to provide some easter egg context for the poster, which is really cool. Sadly no Green Lanter, Martian Manhunter, or Superman in the film poster though. Hopefully, Martian Manhunter will be eventually brought to the big screen, but we already know Superman will be appearing in the film and Green Lantern Corps is in the works.

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder and hits theaters on November 17th, 2017.

I think someone should tell Alex Ross that his artwork is leagues (eheh) ahead of any studio’s CGI-laden photoshop riddled posters.

Poster art is a dead art, save for Star Wars, these days.

Yeah, that’s because Zack Snyder is a huge fan of Alex Ross’ work. Getting inspiration from the best.

  • I’ve seen comparison’s made also to Kirosawa’s The Seven Samurai poster and the Justice League animated TV series introduction shot.
