See Alfred Molina As Doctor Octopus For Tom Holland’s ‘Spider-Man 3’

Doc Ock's back!

Doctor Octopus Alfred Molina Spider-Man 3 Tom Holland

New artwork shows Alfred Molina returning to the role of Doctor Octopus for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home is shaping up to be one of the most fascinating projects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with many audiences hoping to see the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in the film after reports swirled online about their potential return last year. But interestingly, Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus and Jamie Foxx’s Electro are both also set to return as their respective villains.

In recent news, Zendaya confirmed that she’s worked with Alfred Molina, revealing that he’s been lovely to work with. When audiences last saw Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus, the villain didn’t don his classic green and yellow suit for Spider-Man 2, instead battling Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker in a long overcoat. This stunning piece of fan art from Instagram user ‘awedope.arts’ gives Molina a costume which would look right at home next to the rest of the characters in the MCU. This armored design definitely gives Doctor Octopus a huge upgrade for his role in the upcoming Tom Holland threequel. Check out the Alfred Molina redesign below.

Peter Parker was last seen in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Here is the official synopsis for the movie:

Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) returns in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Our friendly neighborhood Super Hero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks is quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks. Spider-Man and Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) join forces to fight the havoc unleashed across the continent but all is not as it seems.

Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the film stars Tom Holland, Jake Gyllenhaal, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Martin Starr, Numan Acar, J.B. Smoove, Oli Hill, Remy Hii, Marisa Tomei, Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau, Cobie Smulders, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.
