‘Alien: Covenant’ Rover Will Go On A Real Space Mission

Alien: Covenant - Lunar Rover
The Audi Lunar Quattro rover, designed by a group of real-world scientists, was made in conjunction with Twentieth Century Fox’s Alien: Covenant. In the movie, it’s used to explore the abandoned “paradise” world, but what’s really interesting is that this rover will be going to the moon around our own planet.

The 30 kg rover, which is 3-D printed, solar-powered, and primarily made out of Aluminum, is looking to be deployed on the surface of the moon sometime in the near future. When asked for a comment on the little explorer, Audi’s Giovanni Perosino had the following to say:

“The Alien franchise is the best way for us to garner suitable attention for the Moon rover developed by Audi, and to showcase Audi’s intelligent technologies in a visionary environment.”

Furthermore, Twentieth Century Fox’s Zachary Eller added to the conversation and emphasized the importance of the partnership:

“Fox’s partnership with Audi on Alien: Covenant is an opportunity to bring to the forefront the innovative work Audi is doing in exploration. We’re happy to continue our long relationship with Audi that has allowed our filmmakers to incorporate authentic, leading-edge technology into their futuristic worlds.”
