Thanks to the democratic process of Amazon’s pilot season, the people have spoken, and they love The Tick. Amazon Studios recently unleashed pilots for Jean-Claude Van Johnson, I Love Dick, and The Tick online where they could allow users to vote on which shows they would like to see full season for. After everyone voted, it seems the jury’s out and everyone loves The Tick.
The show starring Peter Serafinowicz and Griffin Newman and created by Ben Edlund focuses on the titular New England Comics character. The Tick also was a TV show previously on Fox in 2001 and will be revitalized by the streaming service. The Tick will premiere on Amazon Prim in 2017 by Amazon Prime. Amazon also ordered full seasons for I Love Dick and Jean-Claude Van Johnson. Joe Lewis of Amazon Studios expressed excitement for the upcoming shows.
“These pilots were vast in scope, disruptive in tone, challenging in story and sometimes even funny. It’s rewarding to see customers embrace them in such a huge way. We can’t wait to premiere these series next year on Prime Video.”
The 2016 pilots for Jean-Claude Van Johnson, I Love Dick, and The Tick are available to view on Amazon Prime and can be viewed here.
